Ingredients:
Cake:
31⁄2 cups of cake flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1⁄4 teaspoon of salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
21⁄4 cups of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of light vanilla
1 Cup Buttermilk
10 egg whites, room temperature
Orange Cream Filling:
1 Box White Chocolate Pudding Instant Mix
11⁄4 cups of heavy whipped cream
3⁄4 cup of sour cream
1 teaspoon of orange extract
Zest of a large orange
Orange gel food coloring
White chocolate frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 cup white chocolate chips, melted
1 cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
6 Cups of Confectionery Sugar
Topping:
Vanilla Sponge Cake
Optional fresh orange slices
Addresses:
Cake: mix flour, baking powder and salt. Beat butter and sugar until smooth, add vanilla. Alternative by adding flour and buttermilk mixture to the butter mixture. Folded in whipped egg whites. Bake in prepared pans at 350°F for 28-30 minutes.
Filling: mixture of pudding, cream, sour cream, extract, zest and food coloring.
Frosting: whip cream cheese and butter. Mix in melted chocolate and vanilla, then sugar.
Assemble: layered cake with orange cream filling. Scone with white chocolate icing and vanilla caramel swirls around the sides.
