Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cheddar cheese soup
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 bag (28 ounces) frozen French fries
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the onions are softened.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cheddar cheese soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Spread half of the frozen French fries in an even layer on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture evenly over the layer of French fries.
Pour the cheddar cheese soup mixture over the ground beef layer, spreading it out to cover the beef evenly.
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the soup mixture.
Layer the remaining frozen French fries on top of the cheese layer.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the French fries.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the French fries are golden brown and crispy.
Optional: Garnish the cheeseburger French fry casserole with diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard before serving.
Serve hot and enjoy the deliciousness of this cheeseburger-inspired casserole!
