Taco Casserole with Tortillas Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
  • cup water
  • cup salsa con queso
  • 3 8-inch flour tortillas or corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream for serving
    Directions:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  4. Stir in the salsa con queso until well combined. Remove from heat.
  5. Layer the bottom of the greased baking dish with one tortilla, spread a portion of the beef mixture over the tortilla, and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve with sour cream on the side.
