Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons cold water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions:
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the dry onion soup mix, condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken broth or water, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the soup mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, covering them evenly.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, about 30 minutes before serving, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl until smooth. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the crockpot with the chicken and gravy. Continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes, until the gravy has thickened.
- Once the chicken is cooked and the gravy has reached your desired consistency, serve the chicken and gravy hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
- Enjoy your delicious and comforting Crockpot Chicken and Gravy!
