Ingredients:
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 1 can (12 ounces) of Dr Pepper
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup of cherry juice (from the jar of cherries)
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon of milk
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, Dr Pepper, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and 1/4 cup of cherry juice into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl. Add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork or toothpick.
- Pour the remaining 1/4 cup of cherry juice over the top of the warm cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake.
